At one time in the rich history of this Haight-Ashbury residence, it housed a music studio where the Grateful Dead and the Steve Miller Band recorded, among others. This San Francisco neighbourhood, home to Haight Street and Golden Gate Park, also counted Janis Joplin, Jimi Hendrix, and Jefferson Airplane as residents. Certain motifs become inseparable from the cities that shaped them and the era they came to life in. They carry meaning that reaches well past their literal form, standing in for an entire age of thought, expression, rebellion, and counter-culture. Londubh's 'Enlightenment Psilocybe' wallcovering, shimmering on gold mylar, draws on exactly that kind of symbol, becoming a tribute to the artists and times that made this city legendary. Fittingly, it lines the two-storey staircase tunnel leading down to the music studio itself.
