Designed in collaboration with Nicole Hollis, this elevator installation was created for the 2020 Golden Globes, where it was captured by photographer Douglas Friedman. Hand-tinted cobalt plaster, worked into rich texture and traced with gilded arabesque detailing, lined the walls, while a gloss black floor carried a simulated geometric inlay in gold underfoot. Together, the two surfaces struck a balance between Old Hollywood glamour and a modern deco edge. The result became one of the ceremony's most talked-about backdrops, seen here framing Snoop Dogg and Martha Stewart in a single, unforgettable shot.
